Multi-tone Simulation of Mixers
This paper describes a new artificial frequency mapping technique suitable for the simulation of RF/Microwave mixers when excited by a multi-tone signal. Due to the computational efficiency gained this way, it is for the first time possible to simultaneously analyse small and large signal behaviour of nonlinear mixers subject to real multi-tone signals. As well as the theoretical study, illustr...
متن کاملA cryogen-free HTS Josephson junction detector for terahertz imaging
A cryogen-free terahertz (THz) imaging system based on a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) Josephson junction detector is reported. The detector was made of a YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO) step-edge Josephson junction and integrated into an on-chip thin-film antenna. The HTS Josephson detector was cooled via a commercial mechanical cryocooler; an important step towards cryogen-free THz instrumentatio...
متن کاملToward a programmable HTS Josephson voltage standard: recent results
This paper summarizes recent results of our work toward a voltage standard based on a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) Josephson junction array. The concept of a programmable HTS voltage standard and technological aspects of its fabrication are discussed. New circuits providing uniform microwave current distribution along the HTS array are described.
متن کاملJosephson junction simulation of neurons.
With the goal of understanding the intricate behavior and dynamics of collections of neurons, we present superconducting circuits containing Josephson junctions that model biologically realistic neurons. These "Josephson junction neurons" reproduce many characteristic behaviors of biological neurons such as action potentials, refractory periods, and firing thresholds. They can be coupled togeth...
متن کاملBiepitaxial Josephson junctions and SuFET technology for the preparation of HTS-JoFETs
Biepitaxial Josephson junctions and superconducting field effect transistors (SuFET) were fabricated in order to combine both techniques to a Josephson junction field effect transistor (JoFET). The Josephson junctions show RSJ-like behaviour. At 30 K a critical current density of J, = lo4 A/cm2 and an LRN-product of 0.1 mV were obtained. The oscillation of Shapiro steps with applied microwave f...
